Connecticut Teacher Had Sex With Her Student But His Parents Were Cool With It

It’s no secret that while we are in high school and all our new hormones are raging, it’s hard not to be attracted to our superiors. Especially when they have the right looks some teachers, much like some students, are looking younger every day. Therefore, more kids are finding them attractive- no matter the age gap. Though some of these cases end in some sick twisted teacher-student fantasy gone wrong- this case doesn’t seem all that crazy? Plus, if all teachers looked like this one, well… Let’s just say there’d be fewer lawsuits.

Student teacher Tayler Boncal of Beacon Falls, Connecticut, has handed herself into police after being accused of having sex with one of her pupils. Boncal has been charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault with an 18-year-old male pupil of Conard High School.

She was a 21-year-old student teacher and assistant track coach at Conard at the time of the relationship with the student. However, the story isn’t as straightforward as it seems because, while no teacher should ever abuse their position of responsibility, Fox61 has reported that the male student’s parents asked that she not be prosecuted.

Also, Tayler Boncal wasn’t the student’s coach at the time of their relationship but she did teach him in some social sciences classes. There also isn’t much of an age gap between the two, 18 to 21, at the time the couple began dating – which doesn’t defend Boncal’s actions in her role as superior but certainly makes it slightly more understandable how a relationship developed.

Police said their investigation began on Jan. 12 when they learned that she had the relationship with a male student from Conard High School. The arrest warrant from the State of Connecticut Superior Court also reveals that the student initially pursued the teacher:

“The Victim stated that he requested BONCAL’s phone number and she agreed to the exchange. The two began exchanging text messages on 12/13/17.”

The West Hartford School System alerted New Britain police of the allegations after she was fired in December. Bocal was 21 years old at the time of the relationship and the student wasn’t coached by Bocal.

The two began exchanging texts Dec. 13 and had sex at Boncal’s residence on different occasions, starting on Christmas and with the last encounter on Jan. 11, they both acknowledged, according to the affidavit.

“She stated that the victim was kind to her,” police said in the affidavit. “Boncal stated that she loved the victim and was emotional regarding her feelings for him.”

The student initially denied the relationship to investigators, but eventually told them of the encounters, the affidavit says. told police that he and Boncal exchanged sexually explicit photos and messages, but that he had recently lost his cell phone. Boncal told police that most of the communication was done on Facebook Messenger. The police report also revealed that the first time they had intercourse was at the teacher’s house on Christmas Day.

Boncal was fired from her job in January after an anonymous student reported the relationship to Principal Julio Duarte and the male victim admitted the relationship. He also admitted that the pair had been sexting – but he’d since lost his phone. Police wrote:

“The victim refused to provide a written statement. The victim expressed concern for Boncal with regard to the outcome of this investigation.”

On Friday, Conard High School Principal Julio Duarte sent a letter to parents alerting them to the arrest.

“As educators, we are entrusted to protect and educate all of our students and know there are certain boundaries that can never be crossed,” Duarte wrote. “Also, we will not tolerate any behavior that compromises the safety or well-being of our students. I hope you will not let the misconduct of this one individual cast a shadow over all of our staff members who demonstrate their commitment to our students every day.”

Moore said on Friday that he was “furious” about the violation of faith entrusted to school employees. We will have to wait until Taylor’s day in court March 1 to see what results of this.
